Dealloying-induced phase transformation in Fe–Rh alloys

چکیده

Nanoporous metals produced by dealloying have aroused enormous interest due to exotic mechanical and physico-chemical properties that are usually inaccessible in their bulk form. Interestingly, when binary solid-solution alloys, such as Ag–Au dealloyed, the resulting nanoporous inherit crystal structure of parent alloys. In this Letter, we examined evolution during Fe–Rh alloys show single-phase solubility over a large range compositions. situ x-ray diffraction shows crystallographic Fe85Rh15 alloy transforms from original bcc fcc dealloying. Transmission electron microscopy confirms sample, which exhibits typical bi-continuous porous with ligament sizes only 2–3 nm high Fe concentration. The bcc–fcc transformation is driven chemical disordering Rh atoms, induced highly dynamic dissolution diffusion process at alloy/electrolyte interface. Our study highlights massive consequent disordered arrangement elemental components structure.

Origin of giant moments in non-stoichiometric FeRh alloys

2014 Within a tight-binding scheme, we study the local electronic structure on the nearest-neighbours of a rhodium site which has been substituted by an iron impurity in the stoichiometric FeRh compound in its antiferromagnetic phase. The replacement of the rhodium atom is described by an extended perturbation potential which includes changes in the intrasite and intersite matrix elements up to...

Structural Phase Transformation and Phonon Softening in Iron-Based Alloys

The interrelation of Invar and Martensite in iron-based alloys like Fe3Ni is discussed on the basis of ab initio calculations for different crystal structures. Inelastic neutron scattering and ultrasonic experiments have shown that a soft transverse phonon mode in [110] direction acts as a precursor in the close packed fcc phase of these systems. Unfortunately there are no experimental results ...

Damping Properties of Shape Memory Alloys During Phase Transformation

A high damping capacity is considered as one of the important functional properties of shape memory alloys. Those properties are related to a thermoelastic martensitic transformation. As a consequence of this transformation, the internal friction or damping can be investigated for three different states: 1. during thermal transformation cycling, 2. during martensite induced strain cycling at co...

On phase transformation behavior of porous Shape Memory Alloys.

This paper is concerned on the phase transformation mechanism of porous Shape Memory Alloys (SMAs). A unit-cell model is adopted to establish the constitutive relation for porous SMAs, the stress distributions, the phase distributions and the martensitic volume fractions for the model are then derived under both pure hydrostatic stress and uniaxial compression. Further, an example for the uniax...

Dealloying and Stress Corrosion Craking of Copper Alloys in Cu(I) Solutions

Natural cases of dealloying or stress-corrosion cracking in copper alloys normally occur in oxygenated solutions, where the cathodic reactant is O2 or Cu2+. Within cavities or under deposits, the local environment is enriched in cuprous ions (e.g. CuCl2-, Cu (NH3)2+) and the potential is close to the Cu/Cu+ equilibrium. Such conditions can be simulated macroscopically by stirring powdered Cu2O ...
